The Airo brand

Airo was founded in 1957 by Alexander Schmiemann as Airo-Chemie A. Schmiemann GmbH. The company began by developing products for automotive repair and bodywork restoration. Since then, the product range has been expanded to include numerous special applications.
After 10 years, the market for Airo products grew thanks to their high quality. Due to this enormous growth, the existing production capacity in Leverkusen could no longer cope. Therefore, a new site with state-of-the-art production facilities was built in Langenfeld, Germany. This site remains the company's headquarters to this day.

Production location

Our well-trained employees work on our 12,000-square-meter company premises, and they contribute significantly to our company's success. To ensure our customers can continue to rely on the quality and high standard of our products, we actively ensure they are motivated and qualified to perform their work, including through regular training.

Our own research and development guarantees continuous adaptation of our products to the increasing quality requirements and innovations in our core business.

Airo products haven't just become a household name in Germany since the company's founding. Our export share currently exceeds 60%, and our company has also established a leading position outside the European Union.

Certification

Airo Chemie was certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 in 1997. Since 2004, we have been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000, and since 2008 to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.
